Central Region Area 3 2017-2018 Area Venturing Vice-Presidents and committeeJackson Timblin - V.P. of Administration
Jackson Timblin has been selected as the 2017-2018 Central Region Area 3 VOA Vice President of Administration. Jackson is from the Greater St. Louis Area Council and lives in St. Peters, Missouri. He is a member of Venturing Crews 2921, 2627 and Boy Scout Troop 674. He has previously served as Crew 2921 Vice President of Program, North Star District VOA President, and currently serves as the District VOA Vice President of Administration and Troop 674 Patrol Leader. Since joining scouting, Jackson has participated in Personal Safety Awareness Training, Goal Setting and Time Management Training, ILSC, Project Management Training, Wilderness First Aid Training, Powder Horn, and NYLT. He was the committee chair for the 2016 GSLAC Marvelous March Event and the 2017 GSLAC Climb the Night Away.
Jackson is a Sophomore at Francis Howell Central High School where he is a part of its National Honor Society chapter. He enjoys fly fishing, high adventure, and hanging out with friends. When he is not busy with school, scouting, or any other activity, he relaxes and watches The Office or Parks and Recreation. He looks forward to multiple summer camps as well as staffing Jamboree Stem Quest and participating in NAYLE at Philmont! The Central Region Area 3 VOA is honored to have Jackson as the Vice President of Administration.
Hannah Pennington - V.P. of Program
Hannah Pennington has been selected as the 2017-2018 Central Region Area 3 VOA Vice President of Program. Hannah is from the Greater Saint Louis Area Council and is a member of Crews 981 and 2783. She has served as the Vice President of Program for the New Horizons District and has held numerous Crew officer positions, such as; Quartermaster, Historian, Vice President of Program and Vice President of Communications.
Hannah is a Sophomore at Kirkwood Senior High School where she has been on the Cross Country team for two years and the Track and Field team for one year. She is an active member in her church, church youth group, and Venturing. She has earned the Venturing, Discovery, and Pathfinder awards, the Powder Horn badge and the God and Church PRAY award. The Central Region Area 3 VOA is honored to have Hannah as the Vice President of Program.
Isabella Davenport - V.P. of Communication
Isabella Davenport has been selected as the 2017-2018 Central Region Area 3 VOA Vice President of Communication. Isabella is a member of Crew 25 in Prairielands Council in Mahomet, Illinois. She is currently serving as the Crew 25 President and Prairielands VOA VP of Communications. Isabella has earned her Pathfinder Award and has completed ILSC, Goal Setting & Time Management Training, and Project Management Training. She has also staffed Klondike Derby for her Council.
Isabella is currently attending Mahomet-Seymour High School in 9th grade. She is on the Honor Roll and is taking Honors English and Honors Geometry. She is a member of the Swim Team and Marching Band. She also participates in Choir and is enrolled in the Sea Cadet Program. She looks forward to creating meaningful experiences for herself and other Venturers in her new position. The Central Region Area 3 VOA is honored to have Isabella as the Vice President of Communications.
Emma O’Donnell - Mentor/Past President Committee Member
Emma O’Donnell has been selected as a 2017-2018 Mentor/Past President Committee Member. She is from the Greater St. Louis Area Council and is a founding member of Crew 2648. She has previously served in many positions such as the Crew 2648 President, Gravois Trail District VOA Vice President of Program and Administration, and as the current Area 3 VOA President. Since joining Scouting, Emma has completed Goal Setting and Time Management Training, the Kodiak Challenge, NYLT, and Mentoring for Venturing Training. She has been the District Fall Fun Rally Activity Chair for four years and recently helped design a blueprint for a future Area 3 Event.
Emma is a very recent graduate from Oakville High School and is heading to college this Fall. She has been a Wind Symphony Principal for French Horns since 2015. She was recognized for her great work in the band program with the 2017 John Philip Sousa Award. Her name will hang on the high school’s band room wall with all other recipients of the award. The Central Region Area 3 VOA is honored to have someone with such wisdom and experience helping to lead Area 3 this year!
Ukko Devos - Program Committee Member
Ukko Devos has been selected as a 2017-2018 Committee Member in support of our VOA Vice President of Program. Ukko is a member of the Greater St. Louis Area Council and is a member of Crew 2442 and Troop 442. He has previously served as an OA Lodge Recording Secretary, Osage District VOA President, and a Wood Badge Youth Instructor. Since joining Scouting, Ukko has completed NYLT, Wood Badge, ILSC, Kodiak Challenge, Goal Setting & Time Management Training, and the Leave No Trace training. He has staffed as a Wood Badge Youth Instructor, Kodiak Course Director, and Merit Badge instructor at the 2014 SLU Merit Badge University. He is also an Eagle Scout.
Ukko is a homeschooled Senior and has just begun staffing as a Camp Staff Nature Director for this Summer. He hopes to improve community awareness of the Venturing Program and its opportunities. He wants to do this by promoting conservation of resources in order to point people to more service opportunities. The Central Region Area 3 VOA is honored to have someone with goals like Ukko’s and the diverse experience he has in several areas of Scouting.
Andrea Penrose - Communication Committee Member
Andrea Penrose has been selected as a 2017-2018 Committee Member in support of our VOA Vice President of Communication. She is a member of Crew 25 in Prairielands Council in Mahomet, Illinois. She has served as the Crew 25 VOA Vice President of Communications as well as Administration. She has completed CPR and First Aid Training, ILSC, Goal Setting & Time Management Training, and is currently working toward her Discovery Award. She recently staffed the Prairielands Council Klondike Derby.
Andrea is currently attending Mahomet-Seymour High School in 9th grade. She has been on the High Honor Roll for 3.5 years and is a member of Marching Band, Jazz/Pep Band, and Soccer. She has participated in Student Council, Madrigal Brass, the Math Team, Science Olympiad, and Scholastic Bowl. She looks forward to serving the youth in Area 3 and showing them that there is a world outside of technology - and it’s fun! Central Region Area 3 is honored to have someone with as much enthusiasm and zest for Venturing as Andrea as a Committee Member this year!
