Announcing the 2017-2018 Central Region Area 7 Venturing Vice-PresidentsThe Central Region Area 7 Venturing Officers’ Association is proud to announce the selection of Donald Adams, Alexis Burnette, and Arianna Davis as the Area’s 2017-2018 Venturing Vice-Presidents. Their terms will begin June 1, 2017 and continue through May 31, 2018.
In the role of Vice-President of Program, we are proud to announce the selection of Donald Adams. Donny is from Pathway to Adventure Council and is a resident of Markham, IL. He is currently a senior at Tinley Park High School where he is a member of the boys track & field team. This August, he will be a freshman at Aurora University where he will be majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Homeland Security and Psychology.
Donny has taken ILSC, Mentoring Training and has earned the Venturing Award. He is a current member of Crew 422 chartered by the Concerned Parents of Crew 422. In his Crew, he has served as the Vice-President of Administration and Chaplains aide. He is also an Ordeal member in the Order of the Arrow.
This past year, Donny served as the Vice-President of Program for Area 7 and helped to create and run two wonderful events. During this upcoming term, he hopes to have more attendance at both events, and help in assisting to create a 3rd event for training Council VOA Members and Advisors.
Outside of Venturing, Donny enjoys working out, spending time with his friends, shooting sports and is a skilled marksman.
In the role of Vice-President of Communication, we are proud to announce the selection of Alexis Burnette. Alexis is from Pathway to Adventure Council and is a resident of Tinley Park, IL. This fall, she will be a junior at Victor J. Andrew High School, where she has earned the Outstanding Student award and has been on the Honor Roll.
Alexis is a member of Crew 442 chartered by the Concerned Parents of Crew 422. Within her Crew, Alexis has been the Vice-President of Program, and is the President-elect for the 2017-2018 term. She has attended NYLT, as well as will be staffing a course this summer. She has also taken STEM training at the Summit Bechtel Reserve and completed ILSC and Goal Setting & Time Management training.
Alexis has earned her Venturing Award and is currently working on her Discovery Award. She is still an active member within her Girl Scout Troop as well, where she has earned the Bronze and Silver Award and the Silver Torch Award. She is currently in the process of working on earning her Girl Scout Gold Award.
This year, for her term within the Area, she is hoping to make everything more accessible for people in Crews to find everything and anything that they need about upcoming events, trainings, etc. She also hopes to utilize social media more, as well as help to create an Area 7 Venturing Website.
Outside of Venturing, Alexis has been a member of the volleyball team, youth in government, yearbook and med club.
In the role of Vice-President of Administration, we are proud to announce the selection of Arianna Davis. Arianna is from Northeast Illinois Council and is a resident of Ingleside, IL. She will be a junior this fall at Grant Community High School where she has played volleyball, soccer and is a member of the band and National Honor Society.
Arianna is a member of Crew 185 chartered by the Fox Lake Rotary. Within her Crew, Arianna has held the positions of Vice-President of Finance and Vice-President of Administration. She is the current Vice-President of Program for Northeast Illinois Council Venturing Officers’ Association. Arianna is also the President of her Girl Scout Troop.
She has taken ILSC, Goal Setting and Time Management training, Project Management and Mentoring training. She has attended Powderhorn and completed Kodiak, as well as Leave No Trace and is a Certified Angling Instructor.
Arianna has earned the Venturing Award and is currently working on earning her Discovery Award. She is also the recipient of the Council Venturing Leadership Award from Northeast Illinois Council.
This year, for her term within the Area, she is hoping to help grow membership within the Venturing program by showing others how wonderful this program is and bringing more attention to the activities and leadership opportunities that can be found within. Arianna is also hoping to help continue to start a Council Venturing Officers’ Association within all 8 Councils found within Area 7, as well as help Councils earn the CSVE.
Outside of Venturing, Arianna enjoys playing sports, being a member of the band, reading and going on many different types of adventures with her friends and family!
