Central Region Venturing Vice Presidents for 2018-2019Please welcome the Central Region Venturing Vice Presidents for 2018-2019:
Catherine Colletti, VP-Administration
Gordon Meier, VP-Program
Grace Prorok, VP-Communication
Catherine, Gordon and Grace will be responsible for working closely with
Their term of office will begin on June 1, 2018.
Catherine Colletti will serve as the Central Region Venturing Vice President of Administration for the 2018-2019 term. She served previously as the 2017-2018 Central Region Venturing Vice President of Program.
Catherine is from Wildwood, Missouri and is part of Crew 627 in the Greater St. Louis Area Council. She joined Venturing four years ago and immediately jumped into the program, leaving for a Philmont trek less than a month after joining. She loves Venturing for the unique opportunities and community it provides.
Catherine previously served as her crew's President, New Horizons District President, CR Area 3 VP of Program, and CR VP of Program. She has earned the Religious Life Bronze, Pope Pius XII, Pathfinder, and both the Dr. Sally Ride and Wright Brothers Supernova Awards. She has also been honored with a Council and Area VLA.
Since joining Venturing, Catherine has completed ILSC, NYLT, NAYLE, Kodiak Challenge, and Powderhorn. She has staffed Kodiak, #AWESOME STEM Explorations at the Philmont Training Center, NAYLE, and numerous other STEM and Venturing trainings. She also serves as a member of the BSA's National STEM Nova Committee.
Outside of Venturing, Catherine is a member of the National Honor Society, plays bass in her church choir, and has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award. She will attend Missouri University of Science and Technology in the fall to major in Ceramic Engineering, a specialization of materials engineering. She looks forward to serving Central Region Venturing in the coming year.
Gordon Meier is the Central Region Venturing Vice President of Program for 2018-2019 term. Gordon served previously as the 2017-2018 Central Region Area 2 President.
Gordon is from Grand Blanc, Michigan within Water and Woods Field Service Council. He is currently attending Grand Blanc High School and will be attending Central Michigan University in the fall of 2018 for Broadcasting and Cinema.
Gordon is a member of Crew and Troop 176 and has been involved with Scouting for the past 13 years. During his time as a Venturer, he has served as Crew President, Council V.P. of Communications, Area V.P. of Program, and Area President. Gordon has completed NYLT and ILSC. He has been staff on NYLT course for 3 years. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He has received his Eagle Scout Award, Silver Award, Council VLA, Area VLA, Arrow of Light, and is working on his Summit Award.
In his free time, he likes to produce videos and volunteer at his school. During his term, Gordon hopes to innovate the regions best practices, online store, and training. Gordon looks forward to working with the Region officers and the Area’s V.P.’s of Program.
Grace Prorok will serve as 2018-2019 Central Region Venturing Vice President of Communications. She previously served as the Central Region Area 4 Venturing President from 2016-2018.
Was a founding member of the Lake Erie Council and Tinkers Creek District Venturing Officer Associations. Grace has also served on Beaumont Camp staff for four years and NYLT staff for one year and numerous crew officer positions.
Grace has earned the Sports Bronze Award, the Summit Award, and is working towards the Ranger Award. She has also been honored with the council, area and region Venturing Leadership Awards.
Outside of Venturing, Grace studies marketing and digital media production with a concentration in film at Kent State University. She is part of the tech and operations department for TV2 on campus TV.
This year she looks forward to improving the region social media and working with her fellow officers.
