Central Region Venturing Vice Presidents for 2016-2017

Please welcome the Central Region Venturing Vice Presidents for 2016-2017:
Cathie Seebauer - Vice President of Administration
Emilio Cerda - Vice President of Program
Ariana Herman - Vice President of Communications

Cathie, Emilio and Ariana will be responsible for working closely with
the 2016-2017 Central Region Venturing President Chris Mausshardt
in the completion of his goals for the upcoming year.

Their term of office will begin on June 1, 2016.


Cathie Seebauer

Cathie Seebauer will serve as the Central Region Vice President of Administration for 2016-2017. Cathie previously served as the 2015-2016 Area 3 Vice President of Administration.

Cathie is a member of Venturing Crew 1 in Champaign, IL. Previously, Cathie has served as the President of Crew 1, as well as Treasurer. She has also served as the Prairielands Council VOA President and Vice President of Administration.

Cathie has earned the Venturing Silver Award, Gold Award, Outdoor Bronze Award, Sports Bronze Award, and the Arts and Hobbies Bronze Award. She has also earned the Summit Award, NOVA Awards in both math and science, and was presented a Council VLA.

Since joining Scouting, Cathie has completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews, Standard and Wilderness First Aid, Safe Swim Defense, Personal Safety Awareness, Goal Setting and Time Management, Mentoring, and Project Management. Cathie has helped to serve on staff for multiple ILSC courses, Wilderness First Aids, NOVA workshops, and all of the ALPS trainings. She has gone to Philmont on a crew trek as well as Rayado, and she will work there this summer as a Program Counselor at Philips Junction backcountry camp. Cathie is currently attending The High School of Saint Thomas More as a senior, and will be attending the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Outside of Scouting, Cathie is active in her school’s track and cross-country teams, scholastic bowl, math team, art club, ambassadors, peer tutoring, and National Honor Society.

Cathie’s goals for the upcoming term include helping start and strengthen smaller council VOAs and continue to increase the number of CSVE forms submitted.


Emilio Cerda Emilio Cerda will be serving as the Central Region Vice President of Program for 2016-2017. Emilio currently serves as the 2015-2016 Central Region Area 7 Venturing Vice President of Program.

Emilio is from Northwest Suburban Community of Pathway to Adventure Council and is a resident of Hoffman Estates, IL. He is currently attending Elgin High School where he is a Senior this year. He is on the Honor Roll and has earned the Good Citizenship Award. Emilio has taken BSA Climbing Instructor Training, First Aid & CPR, Climb On Safely, Junior Leadership Training and has staffed BSA Climbing Instructor Training for legacy council Northwest Suburban. He is an Eagle Scout and an OA Vigil member. He has earned the Venturing Award as well.

Emilio has served in many roles throughout his Scouting tenure, which include: Crew 808 Vice-President, Den Chief, and Chaplain’s Aide. Outside of Venturing, Emilio played soccer, basketball and baseball. He was also a member of the Drama Club and Tech Club, as well as being in Choir and Band






Ariana Herman Ariana Herman will be serving as the Central Region Vice President of Communication for 2016-2017. Ariana currently serves as the 2015-2016 Central Region Area 1 Venturing Vice President of Communication and is from Northern Lights Council.

Ariana is a Sophomore in College, attending Bismarck State College to major in business and Minor in outdoor recreation to become a camp director. She has her Bronze, Gold, and Silver Awards for Venturing along with the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards for Girl Scouts. Ariana has also been named North Dakota's VFW Scout of the Year for 2015. This summer will be her 5th year on staff for Northern Lights Council's National Youth Leadership Training serving as Quarter Master. It will be her third summer working at Camp Wilderness Boy Scout Camp with the Cub Scouts as well. She has previously served two terms as Area One's Vice President of Communications. Ariana is very excited to continue being a part of Venturing.
