A High School Party

Position One: What is all the fuss about?

You are a transfer student into a new high school. For Halloween, one of the more popular kids in your class is having a co-ed party while his/her parents are out of town. You overhear that this is going to be the best party of the year and that there will also be a lot of upperclassmen at the party, so you desperately want to go in order to meet more people. You know that your parents wonít let you go to the party without parental supervision, so when you ask to go, you leave out the fact that his/her parents wonít be there because you arenít exactly lying Ė just leaving out some of the details.

Your parents trust you not to lie to them, so you know you canít leave out the fact that his/her parents wonít be there. You ask your parents to go to the party and they say no. All of your friends are expecting you to be there, but you have to tell them that you canít go.
